I like Hugh MacLeod’s message in his blog post, “anticipated content”: do people ‘look forward’ to you? The only problem is I don’t know how to get people to look forward to my content.
I usually look forward to content in which I already have an interest. I like action movies so if I see a preview for an action movie I’m attentive to it. The quality of the content is the other part. The preview has to convince me the movie is interesting enough for me to see.
I guess I have a beginning in terms of getting people to look forward to content. People have to know the content is available and it has to be interesting enough to pique their interest. I think most content creators believe they are creating something which is interesting; I know I do. The final word is with the audience. I can put the work in the world but it’s the world which must decide the relevance, or not, of the content. I must create anyway. the rest of it is not in my control.
